Pray for Our Church Day 12

June 12

Read 1 Cor. 16:15; 2 Cor. 9:12-13; Jas. 3:13; Eph. 6:7

Lord, I lift up the people who work behind the scenes at our church. Thank You for our  nursery workers, the deacons of the month who empty the trash, clean up who lock up. For those women that come and help with our  funerals, weddings and fellowship times. They make sure that everything is just right for those precious moments in people’s lives. We give thanks today for those who work in our garden, that make sure the grounds are beautiful when we come to praise our Savior.  Bless all of them for the obedience and generosity they have displayed—may You receive praise as a result! Keep them in an attitude of humility that comes from wisdom and wholehearted service to You rather than to be noticed by others.

Read 1 Tim. 4:12; 1 Jn  2:14; Prov. 3:21, 7:7; 7:2; Joel 2:28.

Lord, I lift up those who work with our youth and college students. Let our education director Dennis Iida and our sponsors set an example in their speech, life, love, faith and purity.  Cause them to be strong, alive-in-the-Word. Help them to have  discernment as they deal with the young people in our church. Help them to  notice any youth who lacks judgment so they can teach them to value Your  life-giving principles. Pour out Your Spirit on them.
“Intercession is truly universal work for the Christian. No place is closed to intercessory prayer. No continent, no nation, no organization, no city, no office. There is no power on earth that can keep intercession out.” Richard Halverson

Teach them to be in right relationship to You and each other, to love their families sacrificially and to instruct their children with patience. Encourage them to hold each other accountable as they carry each other’s burdens. May they speak the truth in love to each other even when it’s hard.

Lord, I lift up our Women’s Ministry. Mary Martha, Naomi Ruth, and Amy Purcell. Teach our women to be strong spirits who put their hope in You. Let this ministry produce women who feel Your passion for them and who choose to spend time at Your feet. Train them to contend for the gospel side by side with the men in our fellowship.

June 8

Read 2 Tim. 2:15; Col. 1:28; Dan. 2:47; Phil. 1:14; 2 Cor. 4:13

Lord, today I lift up our Christian Education, our children, and our teachers. May everyone who holds that position—pastors, Sunday school teachers, and HBF leaders—rightly divine Your word of truth. Let them admonish and teach with wisdom. Reveal the mysteries of Your word to them and encourage them to speak those mysteries courageously and fearlessly.

Heavenly Father, May your people in the hard places not lose heart (2 Cor. 4). May they be strengthened with might through your Spirit in their inner person (Ephesians 3:16). May their roots go down deep in your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:7). And may they grow strong in the power of your might (Ephesians 5:10-18).

Read (2 Chron. 20:21-22; Jn. 4:23-24; Phil. 3:3)

Lord, I lift up our music director Jeff, our accompanists Jill and Nanette. I give thanks for our Praise Team, New Life Choir, and our Bells. May they rejoice in Your holiness and praise You out of that understanding. Help them lead us faithfully giving thanks for Your enduring love. Use their praise to defeat the enemy. Give them the courage to move forward when people make remarks about the music, the volume the selection. May we the receivers of their gifts and talents be the worshipers You are looking for who come to You in spirit and in truth. Let us glory together only in You, Jesus.

 Read 1 Thes. 1:5; Col. 4:5; 2 Cor. 2:15; 2 Cor. 4:4

Lord, I lift up the lost members of our congregation. Let the gospel be presented to them not only through the sermon but also with power, the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. Teach us to make the most of every opportunity to share Your salvation. Help us to be the fragrance of Christ to them.

“Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of his willingness.”

Read Prov. 16:31; Titus 2:4; 1 Pet. 5:5; Job 12:12; Isa. 40:29, 31

Lord, I lift up the senior members of our congregation. Sew-in-Love, the Long Life Ministry. Thank You for every gray hair attained by righteous living. We are blessed by their example and ability to train us. Allow them the strength to understand when there are changes. Help us together to be humble as we benefit from each other. Help them receive the strength and power You’ve promised to the weary and weak. May they put their hope in You and be renewed in the process.

Pray for Our Church Day 4

June 4

Read (Matt 18:3-4; Prov. 20:11; Eccl. 12:1; Ps. 71:17; 2 Tim. 2:22)

Lord, I lift up the children and youth in my congregation to You. May the little ones remain humble examples of what we adults need to become in the kingdom. Let their conduct always be pure and right with reputations that show that they remember You, Creator God. Teach them to declare Your marvelous deeds. May they flee evil desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. During the upcoming summer months may they hunger for Your Word.
We learn by prayer to detect the differences between God’s order and God’s permissive will. God’s order is: no pain, no devil, no war, no sin. His permissive will is all these things, the ‘soup’ we are in just now. What one needs to do is get hold of God’s order in the kingdom on the inside, and then he will begin to see how to handle the riddle of the universe on the outside.

Oswald Chambers

Pray for Our Church Day 3

June 3

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Read (Eph. 4:1; 2 Thes. 1:11; Ps. 132:9; Isa. 61:10; Rev. 3:4)

Today I lift up the adults in my congregation to You. May we live worthy of Your call on our lives. As we respond to that call, fulfill every purpose, every faith-filled act of service by Your power. May we be clothed in righteousness with hearts that sing for joy and delight greatly in You. We want to walk with You, Jesus. But I do want to pause and lift specifically (please say their name(s). Many are facing operations, relationship and recovery issues. Some are seeking jobs, others have new babies and need rest, comfort and wisdom. Be with them today my God and Savior.
Corrie ten Boom said, “Don’t pray only when you feel like praying. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. Believers on their knees are powerful and effective.”
