Teach them to be in right relationship to You and each other, to love their families sacrificially and to instruct their children with patience. Encourage them to hold each other accountable as they carry each other’s burdens. May they speak the truth in love to each other even when it’s hard.

Read 2 Tim. 2:15; Col. 1:28; Dan. 2:47; Phil. 1:14; 2 Cor. 4:13

Lord, today I lift up our Christian Education, our children, and our teachers. May everyone who holds that position—pastors, Sunday school teachers, and HBF leaders—rightly divine Your word of truth. Let them admonish and teach with wisdom. Reveal the mysteries of Your word to them and encourage them to speak those mysteries courageously and fearlessly.

Heavenly Father, May your people in the hard places not lose heart (2 Cor. 4). May they be strengthened with might through your Spirit in their inner person (Ephesians 3:16). May their roots go down deep in your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:7). And may they grow strong in the power of your might (Ephesians 5:10-18).

Lord, I lift up our music director Jeff, our accompanists Jill and Nanette. I give thanks for our Praise Team, New Life Choir, and our Bells. May they rejoice in Your holiness and praise You out of that understanding. Help them lead us faithfully giving thanks for Your enduring love. Use their praise to defeat the enemy. Give them the courage to move forward when people make remarks about the music, the volume the selection. May we the receivers of their gifts and talents be the worshipers You are looking for who come to You in spirit and in truth. Let us glory together only in You, Jesus.

Lord, I lift up the lost members of our congregation. Let the gospel be presented to them not only through the sermon but also with power, the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. Teach us to make the most of every opportunity to share Your salvation. Help us to be the fragrance of Christ to them.

We are blessed by their example and ability to train us. Allow them the strength to understand when there are changes. Help us together to be humble as we benefit from each other. Help them receive the strength and power You’ve promised to the weary and weak. May they put their hope in You and be renewed in the process.

Pray for Our Church Day 4

June 4

Read (Matt 18:3-4; Prov. 20:11; Eccl. 12:1; Ps. 71:17; 2 Tim. 2:22)

Lord, I lift up the children and youth in my congregation to You. May the little ones remain humble examples of what we adults need to become in the kingdom. Let their conduct always be pure and right with reputations that show that they remember You, Creator God. Teach them to declare Your marvelous deeds. May they flee evil desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. During the upcoming summer months may they hunger for Your Word.
We learn by prayer to detect the differences between God’s order and God’s permissive will. God’s order is: no pain, no devil, no war, no sin. His permissive will is all these things, the ‘soup’ we are in just now. What one needs to do is get hold of God’s order in the kingdom on the inside, and then he will begin to see how to handle the riddle of the universe on the outside.

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Read (Eph. 4:1; 2 Thes. 1:11; Ps. 132:9; Isa. 61:10; Rev. 3:4)

Today I lift up the adults in my congregation to You. May we live worthy of Your call on our lives. As we respond to that call, fulfill every purpose, every faith-filled act of service by Your power. May we be clothed in righteousness with hearts that sing for joy and delight greatly in You. We want to walk with You, Jesus. But I do want to pause and lift specifically (please say their name(s). Many are facing operations, relationship and recovery issues. Some are seeking jobs, others have new babies and need rest, comfort and wisdom. Be with them today my God and Savior.
Corrie ten Boom said, “Don’t pray only when you feel like praying. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. Believers on their knees are powerful and effective.”

Today I pray for our deacons for our leaders. Help us respect and honor them as they direct the affairs of our church. May they wholeheartedly give their attention to prayer and ministry of the Word. Keep them above reproach, devoted to their families, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable and able to teach. May they be gentle and honest as they deal with us. Today I pray for Boon, Gwen, Jennifer, Bobby, Richard W,  Richard B, Vicky, Patti, Jeff,  Howard, Lena, Irma, Lanny, Martin, Patricia and Irene. May they be faith laborers, humble servants of God and positive influences upon our community.

Pray for Our Church for 30 Days with Rev. Jack

“Gracious God, I put myself before you in this moment with desire. Open my eyes that I may see your promise all about me, open my ears that I may hear your words whispered to my deepest being.”

Dear Members and Friends,

First Chinese Baptist Church is now 131 years old. You as a church family have done some wonderful things for our Savior. But now we are at a pivotal moment in our life cycle as a fellowship. We are facing changing dynamics for our church in terms of staff, decline of younger families, a growing older fellowship and decreased giving. So how do we address such realities and make sure we are a vital, growing body that impacts its community and world through missions, discipleship and worship? We know the answer is always first to pray.

So I am asking that you take the month of June to pause and lift this ministry up for the next thirty days. I ask that you pray with your whole heart for our church family. Be committed to focusing for a few moments each day on our outreach, leadership, worship, maturity and giving.

Look at the world as Jesus told us to do. Be alert, be observant and pray about the life of your church family. Ask God to guide you as you pray. Look at your community the harvest is ripe. So how do we be the laborers God expects from us here in Fresno?

Be relentless in your prayer for the next thirty days. We have been granted access to the throne of grace. We have been taught to pray for God’s will to be done. We have been promised the help of his presence and his power. We can be relentless in asking God to work among us. We should never, never, never give up in our prayers. (Hebrews 4:16; Matthew 6:10; Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 18:1)

Pray lovingly. We pray because we love the Lord and want to accept His invitation to simply ask. We pray for this church family because we love each other. We pray because we love the lost and share his compassion for those who have no Shepherd.

Pray daily. There is no substitute for the daily exercise of contemplation, meditation and prayer. Ten minutes spent in the presence of God on behalf of this family, staff, leaders, teachers and volunteers will change our lives and ministry.

May God richly bless your time in prayer!

Rev. Dr. Danny L. Jack

Luke 11:1 Lord, teach us to pray

Read 2 Cor. 4:1; 1 Cor. 4:1-3

Dear God today I pray for my pastor and his wife. Today they celebrate 40 years as a married and servant couple. Keep him from losing heart when ministry gets tough. Help him prove faithful with the things that you have entrusted to him. Teach him Your ways so that he knows You and finds favor with You as He leads us. Keep him open and honest before You and help him to represent the truth plainly. Arlean and he celebrate 19 years as our pastor and wife may they know we stand with them that we are accountable to them and together we can bring hope to our community and church family.
